Kendrick’s Barbershop was founded and started by Master Barber Marquis Kendrick, with a passion for barbering and a focus on providing great customer service and grooming experience.
Meet the owner
Marquis Kendrick is the founder and owner of Kendrick’s Barbershop. In 2011 Marquis began his journey to become a license barber. Marquis took all that he learned in the military and management experience to become a license barber in August 2012 in the State of Maryland. Marquis return back to school in 2013 and attended Salem County Adult Vocational School in New Jersey and obtain his New Jersey cosmetology license in July 2014. Marquis worked several years part time as both a barber and cosmetologist. In October 2018 he decided to leave the logistics field and pursue his desire of becoming a full-time barber. During that tenure Marquis worked at numerous great shops perfecting his skills and learning the business of barbering.
Marquis earned his Master Barber license for the State of Maryland in December 2019 and begin teaching Barbering at New Vision Academy High School. In May 2020 Marquis along with a business partner started Rivals Barbershop and within three years the business saw growth, but changes had to be made for the business to grow to its full potential. In March 2023, Marquis launched the beginning of Kendrick’s Barbershop.
Marquis’s desire and passion for barbering shows in his work and as well as his support to his staff and customers. Kendrick’s Barbershop motto is “We cut hair and not corners” is Marquis quote and desire to give his customers the best grooming experience without compromising and taking shortcuts. Customers deserve the best service in a great environment. In order to do so Marquis takes pride in hiring the best staff. Marquis creates a learning environment for his staff in order for them to grow and develop their skills as well as a team oriented workspace that brings harmony throughout the shop. Marquis believes if he takes care of his staff the staff will take care of the customers.
Kendrick’s Barbershop has seen growth and will continue to grow into a great barbershop serving the local communities. With drive, passion and a burning desire Kendrick’s Barbershop will continue to provide the best service to their customers and staff because without great customers and a great team Kendrick’s Barbershop would not be able to achieve the goals set to be one of the best barbershops in the state.
